Ten years spent zipping through the sky, chasing a deep passion for flying, for limitless spaces, for horizons that are wider when observed from great heights. The author recounts her experiences as a civil pilot, describing unexpected encounters and revealing both the background of a traditionally fascinating and intriguing job as well as its darker sides, like her efforts to make her way as a woman at the controls of an airplane or the small and large battles to be faced every day to overcome the problems and hostilities of a complex and compelling profession. Giving her a helping hand is her love for her work, the awareness of knowing how to do it well and, in the end, the courage to make a painful but necessary choice.
The thin, elegant wings of a Piaggio P180 allow the author to rise above the earthly shadows, transporting the reader into a story written with freshness and a sincere heart, without artifices, through a series of adventures that are both entertaining and evocative. A narrative that is also a vital inspiration for learning to never give up.

Honest and candid insight into life in the air
Carolina gives a very open and personal account of her life achieving her big ambition. The Good, the bad, the highs, the lows and her intense passion that took some hammering along the way. A brave lady with some challenging obstacles in her way. I hope her passion continues with her CRM teaching. A very interesting read.

Making dreams come true
Reading this book evokes many emotions: it made me laugh, cry, intrigued, angry, happy… It’s such a rich book that leaves you in deep thought. Carolina has a strong power of will and, above all, has a great passion for aviation. Being a pilot is not easy, and if you are a girl is even more difficult. In her book she is telling her experience of ten years, not always happy, in the aviation executive, a world unknown to me, that I discovered with lot of interest. Maybe ’cause I started to fly with the same aircraft (Piaggio) although with a different model (P166 for me, P180 for her) but I felt in perfect connection with her adventure. A book I strongly suggest to those who wish to follow the experience of an aviatrix and the life of amazing people who put their heart and soul to make their dream come true.

A career in aviation teaches Carolina Dellonte about herself and about life.
Carolina Dellonte’s My Heart At Zero Gravity is a low key memoir recounting her unlikely entry into aviation and her career success and challenges as a professional pilot. Of Italian/Norwegian descent, Carolina has a charming way with the English language and tells a captivating story. I recommend this book.

Really enjoyed reading this book
Lovely amusing little anecdotes about life in the air, the highs and the lows, the good and the bad, seen through the eyes of a courageous young woman who followed her dream to become an airline pilot in a male dominated profession. Well written and easy to read, I loved it.
Highly recommended.
